About Greater Evansville Youth Powered by IYG:
Who we are:
Greater Evansville Youth (GEY) Powered by IYG serves LGBTQ+ young people and their allies in and around Evansville. GEY was founded in 2019 by local members of LGBTQ+ community, and in 2024, joined forces with IYG (formerly Indiana Youth Group) - the oldest continuously operating LGBTQ+ youth organization in North America - to offer more comprehensive support to queer young people in Southern Indiana. GEY is one of five IYG centers around the state. IYG strives to provide safer spaces to build self-confidence, explore individualism, and develop friendships within the LGBTQ+ community. IYG promotes a space of acceptance, equity, and restorative practices. We also advocate for LGBTQ+ youth in schools, the community, and through family support services.
